Supporting creativity at the Venice Architecture Biennale
Hosted every two years in Venice, the Biennale is an internationally celebrated exhibition that highlights architectural responses to pressing societal, technological, and human challenges.
We are proud to strengthen our connection with the global design and architecture community by partnering with the British Council as a Supporting Partner of the British Pavilion at the renowned Venice Biennale. This collaboration ties seamlessly with The Dalmore Luminary Series, particularly the unveiling of Luminary No.3 2025 Edition, which took place in Venice, preceding the Biennale’s grand opening.
With contributions from 29 National Pavilions, alongside a central exhibition, it has featured work by some of the world’s most innovative architects, including previous Luminary collaborators Kengo Kuma Associates and Zaha Hadid Architects.
While this marks The Dalmore’s inaugural role as an official Supporting Partner, the Highland Single Malt has previously supported the British Pavilion’s vernissages, including at La Biennale di Venezia’s International Arte Exhibition in 2023.
The British Pavilion, curated by the British Council, showcases the best of contemporary UK architecture and design. For the 2025 edition, the Pavilion explores “Architecture as an Earth Practice,” under the stewardship of curators Kabage Karanja and Stella Mutegi of Cavebureau, joined by Owen Hopkins and Professor Kathryn Yusoff. Titled “Geology of Britannic Repair,” the exhibition examines architecture’s role in addressing colonial and environmental legacies.
Through collaborative installations by globally renowned designers, the exhibition reimagines architecture as a reparative, non-extractive practice aimed at renewal and restitution. Together, The Dalmore and the British Council celebrate the transformative power of design to shape a more sustainable and thoughtful future.
This partnership reflects The Dalmore and Luminary Series’ shared ethos of fostering exceptional creativity and innovation. Supporting the British Council and the British Pavilion allows us to champion cross-cultural collaboration and inspire forward-thinking design, much like our own whisky-making philosophy.
The 19th International Architecture Exhibition is open to visitors until Sunday 23 November 2025.
